Meet Evercare Registered Nurses

One thing our nurses agree on is that every day is different with Evercare. There are always new challenges, new patients and new opportunities to put their nursing skills to the test.

We're proud of our nursing professionals and appreciate their daily contributions. We'd like to share a few of their experiences with you.

Anna Michelle, RN

What Anna Michelle enjoys most about her Evercare career is the chance to teach patients in the field. She's been able to educate others on diabetes, COPD, congestive heart failure and more. Anna says this helps keep patients out of the hospital.

Anna put her own education into action helping one of her patients. A man in his 30s had lupus and a form of paraplegia (Stage 4 and Stage 2). In addition, the patient had wounds that were not healing well under the current care plan. Anna went to the hospital and met with the patient and his family, as well as managers, medical directors and physicians. She coordinated a new plan and moved the patient to a skilled facility where his wounds healed nicely.

"By working with Evercare, I have the ability and autonomy to say to a patient, 'We want you to get better and I will coordinate a team to do it.' It's very rewarding."

Jackie, RN

With 15 years of home health care experience, Jackie knew her niche was caring for the elderly. But she wanted to do more. She wanted to help people be healthier before they got sick. That's when she learned about Evercare. Now, five years later, Jackie is still happy with her career choice.

"The nursing at Evercare is innovative. It's exciting to be on the cutting edge of preventive medicine."

Jackie's friends can't believe an insurance company cares so much. Neither did one of her patients, an active man in his 70s living independently. He thought his insurance company just paid his medical bills. He was so surprised and touched when Jackie arrived to make sure his needs were being met.

Mary, RN

After working in Disease Management, Care Management, Critical Care and Adult Med/Surg, it was clear that Mary loved variety in her work. Working with Evercare, she says that every day is different, challenging and inspiring.

"I get to use my creativity to come up with solutions that really impact the patient."

Mary is a natural at listening, which is sometimes what patients and their families need most. Recently, she spent two hours on the telephone with a tearful daughter of a patient with Alzheimer's Disease. The daughter has MS and felt guilty about not being able to take care of her mother. She vented. Mary listened. Mary then helped her patient get good placement in a home and assured her patient's daughter that her mother was well cared for and comfortable. Everyone felt better.

Joanne, RN

As a national organization, Evercare is everywhere, even in the rural communities of Arizona. That's also where you'll find Joanne. Why this type of job? Joanne says she likes the flexibility and challenges of the job. Why Evercare? "I like the company's integrity and compliance. We receive many rewards and I've enjoyed career advancements even in my rural location."

"It's comforting to know that you work for a good employer."

Joanne never says, "We can't do this." For her isolated patient, she arranged to have a wheelchair ramp installed and for other home modifications to be completed. Then she even found a caregiver willing to venture down a dirt road to make home care visits. Joanne says nothing is more rewarding than finding a caregiver and having the patient be able to stay in his or her home.
