Meet Evercare Nurse Practitioners

Our Nurse Practitioners are as unique and special as the individual patients they serve. We're proud of their dedication to caring and appreciate their contributions to the success of our entire organization.

Here is your chance to get to know a few of our valued Nurse Practitioners. Keep visiting this section as we update our testimonials. Will yours be next?

Laura, NP

Laura came to Evercare from a hospice in Boston before training with Evercare and embarking on her own caseload. Her passions are with the end-of-life care. For the past five years, Laura served a 90-year-old gentleman with dementia.

From the beginning, the patient's daughter was very involved and often talked with Laura about her father. After the patient suffered a fall and contracted numerous infections, his options needed to be reviewed. Laura could see that this was a tight-knit family and arranged a family meeting with the daughter and sons of the patient. Together, they mapped out a plan and decided to allow natural life progression while providing comfort and safety. Laura educated the family on the dying process, discussed medicines, hydration and what to expect each step of the way. The end stages were a very peaceful process.

"Just being so involved was a privilege."

Making this experience even more rewarding were the kind comments from the nursing home staff about how dignified Laura made this process and how well she dealt with caring for the patient's family.

Holly, NP

As a 5-year NP veteran, Holly was skeptical when Evercare approached her. She didn't know much about Evercare but felt a connection and took the job. Now, five years later, Holly is still with Evercare and still excited about her choice.

"The support is a lot better, the pay is better and the bonuses were a big surprise."

Holly smiles a lot in her job. After returning from a short vacation and calling on a patient, she was greeted with a sincere, "I missed you." The patient clearly looked forward to seeing Holly and enjoys the time they spend together.

A year later, Holly went on another vacation. While she was gone one of her patients had an episode and the patient's daughter called Holly to find out what was going on. The daughter felt better after talking with Holly and said, "It is so helpful just to be able to have access to you."

Katy, NP

When Katy discovered Evercare she saw in it her own idea of nursing-personalized, coordinated care. With her skills and outgoing personality, Katy has become a link between patients, their families, nursing facilities and physicians. Her number one priority is making sure her patients are getting the care they need and deserve.

"I enjoy being there for my patients and ensuring the best care possible."

Katy's dedication is definitely felt and appreciated by patients and their families, as well as nursing facilities and physicians.

Erika, NP

Even after nine years with Evercare, Erika is still going strong in the nursing profession. She enjoys the clinical work and the feeling of progression as she accepts opportunities for clinical education.

But as a Nurse Practitioner, Erika says there's nothing more rewarding than personally making a difference in the lives of her patients. Even her patients' families feel better knowing that Evercare-and Erika-are caring for their loved ones. Getting involved, knowing the families, understanding each patient's perspective-it's why Erika knows exactly what her patients need even if they can't tell her.

"This is the best job I've ever had!"
