College & University Partnerships

Evercare has established relationships with numerous colleges and universities for preceptorship and other partnerships. Our college and university relationships are expanding as quickly as we are. We currently have formal partnership agreements with over 100 nursing programs across the United States.

To help ensure success in our partnerships, Evercare has created an innovated program called Partnering for Success, which has the following primary objectives:

• Enhancement of the nursing student preceptorship experience with Evercare through tools, templates and resources designed to enhance the preceptorship experience for the student as well as the Evercare preceptor.
• Building partnerships with academic centers of excellence to provide expanded roles and valuable experience for our clinical staff, including mentoring experiences, faculty appointments and research opportunities.
• Building partnerships with professional organizations that focus on long-term or advanced conditions or such nursing issues as educational funding, work environment and practice.

In addition, Evercare has created the Evercare Scholars program, a $100,000 scholarship for graduate nursing students. Combined with last year's funding, Evercare has committed $200,000 to help fund the education of nearly a dozen graduate nursing students.

For the 2007–8 academic year, five $12,000 scholarships were awarded to graduate nursing students studying ways to improve health care delivered in long-term-care settings at the John A. Hartford Foundation Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence, which are located at five top-tier universities across the country. Evercare is also donating $20,000 each to the Arizona State University College of Nursing and Healthcare Innovation and the University of Minnesota College of Nursing to help establish Centers of Geriatric Nursing Excellence. The centers will be committed to educating graduate students with a focus on geriatric care and also retaining and recruiting outstanding geriatric nursing faculty.
